New Regulations in Makkah: Children’s Strollers Restricted in Holy Sites

In a recent announcement, the General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has introduced new regulations restricting the entry of children’s strollers to the ground floor of mataf, the circumambulating area around the Holy Kaaba.

The directive outlines specific areas within the Grand Mosque in Makkah where pilgrims can bring in children’s strollers. Designated locations include the upper floors of mataf and the mas’a, the running area between Safa and Marwa. Pilgrims are instructed to enter these areas through the King Fahd Expansion Area when accompanied by strollers.

However, it’s important to note that the use of children’s strollers is strictly prohibited in the holy mosque during times of overcrowding on the mataf and mas’a floors. The authority aims to manage the flow of pilgrims efficiently and ensure a safe and organized experience for all visitors to these sacred sites.
