Dubai Chambers has signed four new cooperation agreements with Chinese business organisations, setting the stage for stronger commercial ties, expanded investment opportunities and closer connections between companies in the UAE and China.
The agreements cover four major Chinese business centres — Beijing, Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Chongqing — and are designed to create new avenues for trade, information sharing and collaboration between the two markets.
The memorandums of understanding (MoUs) were signed during the Dubai Business Forum – China, held in Shenzhen. The participating organisations were the Beijing Chamber of International Commerce (BCIC), the China Chamber of International Commerce Shenzhen Branch, the Guangzhou Chamber of Commerce and the Chongqing Chamber of Commerce.
Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, signed three of the agreements with representatives from Beijing, Guangzhou and Chongqing. The Shenzhen agreement was signed by Salem AlShamsi, Executive Vice President of International Relations at Dubai Chambers, alongside the chamber’s Shenzhen counterpart.
New partnerships target trade and investment growth
The agreements seek to build stronger links between business communities, encourage direct engagement between companies and open up fresh opportunities for cross-border commercial partnerships.
Lootah said Dubai Chambers was focused on strengthening relationships with priority international markets through partnerships that help businesses identify promising trade and investment prospects. He added that the organisation was working to equip Dubai’s private sector with the networks, expertise and support needed to expand internationally.
The initiative is also intended to help companies establish lasting commercial relationships, exchange knowledge and identify opportunities that can contribute to sustained growth in bilateral trade and investment.
The agreement with the Chongqing Chamber of Commerce places particular emphasis on promoting trade and investment while facilitating the exchange of information about international exhibitions, business meetings, trade gatherings and other commercial events. The two sides will also support each other’s participation in these activities.
Expanding Dubai’s international business network
Beyond strengthening institutional relationships, the four MoUs establish a framework for companies to exchange information, share expertise and explore areas of common commercial interest.
For businesses in Dubai, closer engagement with counterparts across China’s major commercial centres could help broaden international networks, identify potential partners and pursue opportunities in new markets.
The agreements also reinforce Dubai Chambers’ efforts to connect local businesses with overseas trade and investment institutions, creating more channels for cooperation between the emirate’s private sector and international markets.
The initiative forms part of Dubai Chambers’ wider strategy to improve private-sector competitiveness, expand access to global markets and strengthen the contribution of businesses to Dubai’s long-term economic growth.
