Absher’s Digital Revolution: Over 8.5 Million Transactions Streamlined in December

Saudi Arabia’s Absher platform cemented its role as a transformative digital tool, logging over 8.5 million electronic transactions in December alone. The platform, serving citizens, expatriates, and visitors, has become a cornerstone for efficient and accessible government services.

Breaking down this remarkable figure, the Absher Individuals portal facilitated more than 6 million transactions, with highlights including:

  • National Identity Services: 84,656 verifications of ID validity, 37,962 digital renewals, and 31,110 family member identifications.
  • Card Replacements: Over 9,000 operations to replace lost IDs and 3,223 to replace damaged cards.
  • Family Records: Issuance of 5,528 family records, complemented by updates through the “My Data” service.

Meanwhile, the General Directorate of Passports utilized Absher to streamline residency and visa processes:

  • 347,495 residency permits issued or renewed.
  • 261,969 exit and reentry visas processed.
  • Thousands of passport renewals, visa extensions, and service transfers completed seamlessly.

For public security, Absher powered services ranging from vehicle registrations and driving permits to firearm licenses and insurance validations. The platform also enabled over 95,000 document deliveries via mail and processed nearly 2,000 fingerprint-related inquiries.

On the business front, Absher Business contributed over 2.4 million operations, including:

  • Over 1.3 million internal and external authorizations issued.
  • Nearly 360,000 residency renewals and 195,000 traffic violation inquiries handled.
  • Specialized services such as vehicle ownership transfers, criminal record certificates, and profession modifications conducted with ease.
