Adani Allegations: India Stands Aside in Private Legal Dispute with U.S.

India’s foreign ministry has distanced itself from bribery allegations involving billionaire Gautam Adani, describing the matter as a private legal dispute between U.S. authorities and the involved companies.

“This is a legal issue with established procedures and avenues, which we trust will be followed,” stated ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal during a briefing. He also clarified that the Indian government was not forewarned about the case, underlining New Delhi’s lack of involvement.

The allegations, brought forward by U.S. authorities, target the business dealings of Adani, a prominent industrialist, but remain confined to the jurisdiction of American legal frameworks.
