ADJD Breaks Records with Over Half a Million Electronic Requests in First Half of 2024

In an impressive feat, the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD) processed more than 500,000 electronic requests in the first six months of 2024, showcasing its commitment to digital transformation in the legal sector.

The ADJD tackled 394,800 court-related requests, 49,821 prosecution inquiries, and 69,487 notary public and documentation services, setting a new benchmark for efficiency.

Counsellor Youssef Saeed Al Abri, Under-Secretary of the ADJD, emphasized that the successful management of these requests through AI-enhanced services aligns with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan. This initiative is a key part of the drive to establish futuristic, innovative courts that enhance Abu Dhabi’s global standing.

The first-half 2024 performance report also revealed that 283,802 visual trial sessions were conducted for both criminal and civil cases, achieving a 100% activation rate for remote litigation systems.

Key statistics from the criminal courts include 78,388 rulings, 22,000 penal orders, and the resolution of 111,501 cases by the Public Prosecution.

The report also highlighted that 11,155 cases were filed with the Abu Dhabi Family, Civil, and Administrative Court, 10,149 with the Abu Dhabi Commercial Court, and 1,848 with the Abu Dhabi Labour Court, boasting an impressive average completion rate of 98%.

In the realm of judicial services, 40,254 notary public transactions, 26,593 documentation transactions, and 2,640 digital marriage contract transactions were completed.

Alternative dispute resolution also saw significant activity, with 12,518 lawsuits registered across mediation, reconciliation, and family guidance centres. Among these, 5,968 cases were settled through mediation and reconciliation, while 7,854 disputes were resolved via family guidance, and 8,446 amicable settlement sessions were conducted for family disputes.
