Former BizJet Manager Pleads Guilty to Foreign Bribery Conspiracy

The plea closes the last conviction in a long-running case over bribes for Latin American aviation contracts.

Former BizJet sales manager Jald Jensen has pleaded guilty to conspiring to violate the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act in a scheme to bribe officials for aviation-service contracts in Latin America.

Jensen managed business relationships involving government fleets in Mexico and Panama between 2004 and 2010. According to the plea record, he and others directed payments to officials who could influence contract awards, then concealed and moved the money through US bank accounts and Jensen’s shell company.

BizJet, a US subsidiary of Lufthansa Technik, entered a deferred prosecution agreement in 2012 and paid an $11.8 million criminal penalty. Three other executives pleaded guilty in 2012 and 2013. Jensen was indicted in 2012, extradited from Panama in September 2026 and entered his plea on October 30.

Sentencing will be scheduled for 2027. The conspiracy offence carries a maximum five-year prison term, but the judge will determine the outcome after considering the Guidelines and statutory factors.
