In a significant reshuffle within the Saudi administration, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman has appointed Khalid Al-Abdulkarim as the new secretary general of the Council of Ministers, granting him the status of a minister.
The royal pronouncements, unveiled on Wednesday, also heralded the departure of Deputy Minister of the National Guard Abdul Mohsen Al-Tuwaijri and Deputy Secretary General of the Cabinet Al-Shehana bint Saleh Al-Azzaz from their posts. Al-Tuwaijri has been reassigned as an advisor to the Royal Court, honored with ministerial status.
Furthermore, the decrees unveiled Prince Abdulaziz Al-Muqrin’s elevation to the role of special advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, also bestowed with ministerial rank, entrusting him with the responsibilities of deputy minister of the National Guard.
Other notable appointments include Mazen Al-Sudairi as advisor to the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, recognized with an esteemed rank, and Eng. Sami Muqeem appointed as vice president of the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority, likewise awarded an outstanding rank.
Adding to the roster, Abdul Mohsen Al-Khalaf has been designated as deputy minister of finance with an exceptional rank, while Al-Rabdi bin Fahd Al-Rabdi assumes the mantle of head of the National Data Management Office, also earning an exceptional rank.
