Oman’s property market continued to show stronger activity in July 2026, with the total value of real estate transactions climbing to OMR 1.7157 billion, up 7.7 percent from OMR 1.593 billion recorded during the same period a year earlier.
Property sales accounted for a significant portion of the market’s growth. The value of sales contracts rose 15.7 percent to OMR 843.2 million, compared with OMR 728.5 million in July 2025.
The number of sales contracts also moved higher, increasing 3.9 percent to 39,719 from 38,226 a year earlier.
Mortgage activity remained broadly stable in terms of value but showed a notable rise in the number of contracts. Mortgage transactions were valued at OMR 864.4 million, a 0.7 percent increase from OMR 858.4 million in the corresponding period of 2025.
At the same time, the number of mortgage contracts jumped 22.3 percent to 15,441, compared with 12,621 previously.
Swap transactions also recorded growth in value, reaching OMR 8.2 million by the end of July, compared with OMR 6.1 million a year earlier.
The number of swap contracts, however, stood at 411, compared with 704 during the same period last year.
Property ownership figures showed further movement in the market. The number of properties issued reached 119,832 by the end of July, while properties issued to citizens of GCC countries were reported at 643.
The latest figures point to continued activity across Oman’s property sector, with sales and mortgage contracts both contributing to the overall rise in transaction values.
