In a bold step to empower shoppers and maintain high standards, Qatar’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) has introduced a mobile application that puts consumer protection at users’ fingertips.
Through the app, residents can swiftly report concerns about product quality, service shortcomings, or suspicious pricing practices. This initiative underscores MoCI’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding the local marketplace and ensuring customer satisfaction.
The app’s streamlined interface includes a “Complaints Service” within the “Popular Services” menu. Here, users can choose complaint categories like Pricing and Sales, Product and Service, Advertising and Information, Invoice and Payment, Licensing and Compliance, and Health, Safety, and Public Order. Each category offers sub-options to help customers articulate their issues with precision.
To lodge a complaint, users provide essential details such as their name, QID number, the establishment’s name and location, and relevant images for verification.
This initiative reflects MoCI’s broader strategy to ensure market accountability, protect consumer rights, and offer a hassle-free way to address grievances, paving the way for a more transparent and trustworthy shopping environment.
