Dubai’s future, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has said, will be shaped not only by infrastructure and economic progress but by the people equipped to lead the country through a rapidly changing world.
The Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai stressed that investing in human capital, encouraging a culture of learning and expanding access to knowledge remain central to the UAE’s long-term vision.
Speaking during a gathering at Union House in Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed said the country’s priority is to nurture generations capable of transforming knowledge into achievement and turning excellence into meaningful, lasting progress.
The gathering brought together senior members of the ruling family, ministers, government officials, business leaders and other dignitaries.
Sheikh Mohammed underlined the need to develop confident and capable individuals who can adapt to global changes by constantly strengthening their skills and expanding their knowledge. He said the UAE remains committed to creating an environment that allows national talent to develop the expertise and tools needed to reinforce the country’s position on the regional and international stage.
Education and learning featured prominently during the gathering.
Sheikh Mohammed met the winners of the 10th edition of the Arab Reading Challenge, which attracted more than 830,000 students from across the Arab world, marking a record level of participation for the initiative.
He also met outstanding graduates from the Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences, congratulating them on their academic achievements and praising their dedication to learning.
Addressing the students and graduates, Sheikh Mohammed emphasised that reading and education are essential in preparing a generation capable of innovation. Knowledge, he said, must ultimately be translated into achievements that serve both society and the nation.
He reiterated that investing in people remains one of the strongest foundations for building the future, with today’s academic achievements becoming the starting point for tomorrow’s progress.
During the meeting, Education Minister Sarah Al Amiri presented the Ministry of Education’s strategy, which has been developed in line with the country’s broader leadership vision and government priorities.
The strategy focuses on building an education system that is more flexible, efficient and sustainable while supporting the UAE’s ambition to strengthen its standing among the world’s leading education systems.
The presentation also highlighted preparations for the new academic year and efforts aimed at maintaining high educational standards while further improving the learning experience across the country.
