UAE President Pardons Bangladeshi Protesters, Orders Immediate Deportation

President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the United Arab Emirates has granted a pardon to the Bangladeshi nationals involved in last month’s protests that erupted across several emirates. This decision effectively cancels their sentences and initiates their deportation from the country.

Following the President’s directive, UAE Attorney-General Dr. Hamad Al Shamsi has ordered a halt to the execution of the sentences and the commencement of deportation procedures. He also urged all residents to adhere strictly to the laws of the UAE, emphasizing that while the right to express opinions is protected within the country, it must be done through legal channels that do not threaten national interests or public safety.
