Virtual Ramadan Rendezvous: ADJD Initiates Remote Inmate Visits

In a move aimed at fostering connections during the holy month of Ramadan, the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD) has announced a groundbreaking initiative. Through the “Nafidhaty” (My Window) visitation app, individuals can now virtually visit inmates of Correction and Rehabilitation Centres across the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

Gone are the days of physical visits constrained by time and distance. The ADJD has revolutionized the visitation process, opening a window of opportunity for families and loved ones to connect with inmates seamlessly. Applications for virtual visits can be effortlessly registered via the Abu Dhabi Government Services website (TAMM).

Upon approval, conveyed through SMS, visitors receive a designated date and police station for conducting the remote visitation. This innovative approach not only simplifies the process but also ensures compliance with regulations governing inmate visitations.

For the first time, families and relatives can engage in virtual visitations from Monday to Friday, between 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, commencing from the first day of Ramadan. Additionally, Thursday mornings are exclusively reserved for visiting female inmates at Al Ain Correction and Rehabilitation Centres from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm.

This pioneering endeavor by the ADJD reflects a commitment to inclusivity and the promotion of familial bonds, echoing the spirit of compassion and unity synonymous with the Ramadan season.
