In a move to bolster food and fodder safety across the Emirate, the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) has issued a new directive to streamline and modernize sampling procedures. The initiative is designed to enhance control and inspection measures from production through to the trade stages, ensuring high standards throughout the food chain.
As part of this regulation, ADAFSA’s Director General, Saeed Al Bahri Al Ameri, will oversee the establishment of comprehensive controls and the appointment of qualified personnel to execute these sampling tasks. This effort aligns with ADAFSA’s commitment to modernizing its regulatory framework and ensuring rigorous compliance with established safety laws.
“Our goal is to safeguard consumer health by providing safe, high-quality products for both human and animal consumption,” stated Al Ameri. He emphasized that the new controls are in line with directives from His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, aimed at elevating food and fodder standards. These updated procedures include precise technical guidelines to ensure reliable sampling and analysis results.
Al Ameri also stressed the importance of cooperation from all stakeholders in food and fodder handling facilities to adhere to the new sampling protocols. ADAFSA will remain vigilant in monitoring the implementation of these controls, continuously improving them to match advancements in the industry and uphold stringent safety standards.
This decision marks a significant step forward in ADAFSA’s ongoing mission to fortify food security and uphold the health standards for both humans and animals in Abu Dhabi.
