A Michigan inmate, Derrick Lee Smith, has secured a stunning $100 million judgment against hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs. The judgment was granted by default in Lenawee County Circuit Court after Combs, 54, failed to appear at a virtual hearing on Monday. Smith, 51, accused Combs of drugging and sexually assaulting him at a party nearly 30 years ago.
Combs’ legal team swiftly responded, with his attorney dismissing Smith’s claims as baseless. “This man is a convicted felon and sexual predator with a long history of heinous crimes,” said Marc Agnifilo, representing Combs. Agnifilo argued that Combs had never been served with any lawsuit and expressed confidence that the judgment would be overturned.
Smith, currently serving a 75-year sentence for sexual misconduct and kidnapping, filed his claims against Combs earlier this summer. He also secured a temporary restraining order against the music icon. The case adds to the growing list of legal challenges facing Combs, who is no stranger to controversy.
Diddy, the founder of Bad Boy Records, remains a towering figure in the music industry, with an empire spanning from production to fashion. However, this latest legal development casts a long shadow over his legacy.
