In a bold move against corruption, Saudi Arabia’s Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha) has unveiled a sweeping investigation targeting five key government agencies, including the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Justice, the National Guard, the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, and the Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority.
The initiative, which gained momentum throughout October, has brought to light numerous cases involving bribery and misuse of authority. In a decisive action, authorities have interrogated 322 individuals, resulting in the detention of 121 officials, while others were released on bail.
Nazaha’s extensive oversight efforts included around 1,903 monitoring rounds in just one month, underscoring the agency’s relentless pursuit of accountability. With a firm stance against the misappropriation of public resources, Nazaha has vowed to uphold the law rigorously, ensuring that those who exploit their positions for personal benefit face serious repercussions.
