Abu Dhabi-based investment firm BlueFive Capital has emerged as one of the lead investors in a funding round worth nearly $3 billion for Chinese artificial intelligence startup Kling AI, a company specializing in AI-powered video generation. The latest capital injection places Kling AI’s valuation at approximately $18 billion, underscoring growing investor confidence in the rapidly expanding generative AI sector.
BlueFive Capital co-led the financing alongside a group of major Chinese investors that included CPE, Guofang Investment, Tencent, and CITIC Securities. The round also attracted participation from more than ten additional institutional investors, among them technology heavyweights Baidu and Alibaba Cloud.
The Abu Dhabi investment platform, which manages roughly $15 billion in assets, described the deal as part of its broader strategy to increase exposure to foundational technology businesses with long-term growth potential. The investment also reflects the firm’s expanding footprint in China, following the launch of its Beijing office last year.
The transaction highlights the continued flow of international capital into China’s artificial intelligence ecosystem despite an increasingly competitive global market for AI technologies. For BlueFive Capital, the investment reinforces its focus on backing companies developing next-generation digital infrastructure and advanced AI capabilities.
