Ajman Chamber Advances Commercial Harmony: 84 Mediation Cases in 2023

In a stride towards fostering business tranquility, the Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) successfully mediated 84 commercial cases during the course of 2023. Director of the Legal Affairs Department, Aisha Al Nuaimi, disclosed that an impressive 93 percent of these cases reached resolution, with the remaining 6 cases proceeding to trial.

Emphasizing the pivotal role of commercial mediation, Al Nuaimi highlighted its significance as a primary legal service provided by the Ajman Chamber. This service aims to furnish business proprietors with a sustainable means of amicably settling commercial disputes, facilitated by a select cadre of experts and legal advisors.

The commitment to legal enlightenment is evident in the Ajman Chamber’s annual plan, with a focus on spreading legal awareness among business owners and the wider community. Throughout 2023, the Chamber organized over 8 specialized legal seminars, covering topics such as corporate tax awareness, labor relations and trademark regulations, and the ethical use of AI. Collaborating with governmental and private entities, these seminars played a pivotal role in enhancing legal understanding within the community.

Al Nuaimi shed light on the Ajman Conciliation and Arbitration Center Committee of ACCI, comprising over 20 experts and arbitrators. The committee offers key services including arbitration requests, conciliation services, expert and arbitrator registrations. These services aim to provide flexible and impartial mechanisms for dispute resolution at minimal costs. Moreover, the Center is actively broadening its partnerships with local and international bodies, aspiring to cultivate a proficient group of arbitrators specializing in international arbitration. The propagation of arbitration culture among jurists and businessmen remains a core objective, achieved through seminars, courses, and specialized training programs.

Underscoring the Ajman Chamber’s commitment to evolution, Al Nuaimi asserted the continuous pursuit of enhancing legal services. The Chamber strives to create a conducive environment for business growth, offering innovative proactive services that safeguard commercial and industrial interests. In doing so, it ensures that various sectors remain aligned with legal frameworks, adapting to the rapid changes in the business landscape.
