Atomic Leap: CE-Ventures Backs \$100M Push to Power AI With Nuclear Energy

The race to fuel the world’s AI revolution just received a nuclear boost. CE-Ventures, the venture arm of Crescent Enterprises, has joined a heavyweight group of investors in a \$100 million Series B funding round for Aalo Atomics, a fast-rising US nuclear technology company.

The round, led by Valor Equity Partners and joined by Fine Structure Ventures, Hitachi Ventures, Crosscut Ventures, and others, puts Aalo on the path to a milestone moment: the construction of its first nuclear power plant. If all goes as planned, Aalo expects its “Aalo-X” reactor to reach zero-power criticality by July 2026 — a pivotal achievement that could mark the first advanced nuclear plant in the US to go live in decades.

Founded just three years ago, Aalo has quickly carved out a place in America’s nuclear future. It was recently tapped by the US Department of Energy’s Reactor Pilot Programme, a fast-track initiative launched in June to accelerate advanced reactor testing. That nod from Washington adds both credibility and urgency, as the nation looks for scalable clean energy sources to meet surging demand.

And that demand is skyrocketing, thanks to the AI boom. Data centres powering machine learning models and next-gen cloud services are expected to consume more than four times today’s electricity by 2030, according to the International Energy Agency. Aalo’s vision is to slot its modular nuclear reactors right next to those energy-hungry facilities, turning theory into practice with a planned experimental data centre adjacent to its first test reactor.

“This is about delivering the world’s most reliable clean energy, right where it’s needed most,” said Aalo CEO Matt Loszak. “With the capital we’ve raised, we now have the chance to make nuclear history next summer.”

For CE-Ventures, the deal aligns with a strategy of betting on frontier technologies that can reshape industries. “The surge in AI adoption has triggered unprecedented demand for reliable energy. Nuclear power is one of the few answers that scales cleanly,” said Sudarshan Pareek, Senior Vice President at CE-Ventures, describing Aalo as a leader in “a new atomic age.”

Crescent Enterprises, the parent company of CE-Ventures, has long cultivated cross-border investments in technology, energy, and infrastructure. This latest move cements its place in the high-stakes push to link AI’s future with nuclear innovation — a pairing that may soon define the world’s energy landscape.
