In late November 2023, the Dubai Future Foundation (DFF) has been at the forefront of various initiatives focusing on sustainability, climate change, and ecosystem preservation. - Special COP28 Edition of the Global 50 Report: DFF published a special edition of the “Future Opportunities Report: The Global 50” in the lead-up to COP28. This report outlines 12 transformative opportunities with the potential to advance climate mitigation, adaptation, and resilience. These opportunities range from rewilding initiatives, advancements in water recycling, nuclear fusion for energy, restoration of Arctic ice, protection of ocean ecosystems, long-term global cooperation frameworks, technological innovations for reducing greenhouse gases, decentralized regulatory bodies, digital tools for calculating environmental impact, repurposing of abandoned oil and gas facilities for carbon sequestration, and advancements in nanotechnology for agriculture.
- Dubai Future Forum 2023: The DFF also organized the Dubai Future Forum 2023, a significant event gathering over 2,500 futurists, leaders, and experts from more than 100 countries. The forum featured about 150 speakers across 70 sessions, focusing on discussing and predicting the future trajectory of the world in various sectors. The forum’s themes included Regenerating Nature, Empowering Generations, Transcending Cooperation, and Transforming Humanity, with a particular emphasis on the future of planet Earth, the role of artificial intelligence, and the adaptation to rapid technological advancements.
