Ondo State Embraces Digital Justice: E-Filing Revolutionizes Court System

In a bold move to enhance the speed and efficiency of justice delivery, the Ondo State judiciary has officially launched an electronic court filing system. This innovation, spearheaded by the Chief Judge of Ondo State, Justice Olusegun Odusola, marks a significant leap forward for the state’s legal system, bringing it in line with global standards.

Justice Odusola emphasized that the new system allows lawyers and litigants to swear oaths and file suits electronically, streamlining processes that were previously bogged down by manual paperwork. He highlighted that this technology is already commonplace in many advanced jurisdictions, and Ondo State is now poised to benefit from its implementation.

“This is a historic moment for our judiciary,” Justice Odusola stated, “as we join other states like Lagos, Osun, Oyo, and Ekiti in adopting electronic filing. Our goal is to ensure that justice is served swiftly, and this technology will play a crucial role in achieving that.”

He assured that the judiciary staff would receive comprehensive training to ensure they are well-equipped to navigate the new system, minimizing potential challenges during the transition.

Chief Registrar Mrs. Yetunde Ajanaku echoed these sentiments, noting that the e-filing system would not only streamline judicial processes but also significantly boost state revenue by closing financial loopholes. “The benefits extend beyond the judiciary. This system will block revenue leakages and increase efficiency across the board,” she remarked.

As Ondo State steps into the digital age of justice, the anticipated challenges are seen as opportunities for growth and improvement, with a promise of a more efficient and transparent legal system for all.
