Dubai’s visionary leader, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has orchestrated a significant shake-up in the governance of the renowned ‘Digital School’, a cornerstone initiative under the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives umbrella.
In a sweeping decision, Sheikh Mohammed appointed Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, the distinguished Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, to helm the Board of Directors. This move underscores the Emirate’s unwavering commitment to pioneering advancements in education and technology on the global stage.
Joining Al Olama are a cadre of luminaries from various fields, including Dr. Hamdan Musallam Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the Emirates Red Crescent, and Huda Al Hashemi, the Deputy Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Strategic Affairs. This eclectic mix of expertise promises a holistic approach to steering the Digital School towards greater heights of excellence.
The tenure of the newly constituted Board spans three years from the issuance of the decree, ensuring stability and continuity in leadership. Charged with overseeing the Digital School’s operations in line with its established bylaws, these appointed members will guide the institution through its next phase of growth and innovation.
Since its inception in November 2020, the Digital School has been a beacon of digital learning, particularly for underserved communities worldwide.
