Saudi Arabia Strengthens Anti-Corruption Measures and International Relations

In a landmark move, the Saudi Cabinet, under the leadership of King Salman bin Abdulaziz, has ratified the new Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority Law. This legislation marks a significant stride towards enhancing transparency and accountability within the Kingdom.

The Cabinet session was not limited to domestic affairs. It also shed light on recent diplomatic exchanges between Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and leaders from key nations like France, Russia, and Iraq. These discussions focused on strengthening bilateral ties and expanding cooperation across a spectrum of sectors.

Minister of Media Salman Al-Dossary provided updates on the Kingdom’s active role in regional diplomacy, particularly in peace efforts in Gaza and Yemen. The Cabinet’s review of the International Court of Justice’s advisory opinion, which denounced the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories as illegal, underscored Saudi Arabia’s advocacy for a just and comprehensive resolution to the Palestinian issue, in line with the Arab Peace Initiative and international mandates.

On the economic front, the Cabinet highlighted the Kingdom’s success in stabilizing inflation rates, showcasing effective policy measures in the face of global economic challenges. Further, the session saw the approval of several significant international agreements, including memorandums of understanding in culture, consumer protection, mineral resources, and human rights, as well as employment and tax treaties with Gambia, Tanzania, and Kuwait.

In environmental initiatives, the Cabinet affirmed commitments such as the 2030 Seagrass Breakthrough and a memorandum with Bahrain on sustainable waste management, reflecting Saudi Arabia’s dedication to global ecological conservation efforts.
