Saudi Hajj Ministry Resumes Umrah Visas Post-Hajj

In the heart of Mecca, as Ramadan’s sacred nights embrace the Grand Mosque, a new wave of devotion stirs. April 20, 2023, saw a sea of Muslims performing Umrah, captured in a poignant moment by the Saudi Press Agency.

In a recent move, the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announced the resumption of Umrah visas for the post-Hajj season. This follows the completion of the annual Hajj pilgrimage rituals. The Ministry’s efforts reflect the directives of wise leadership aiming to welcome more pilgrims and ensure their spiritual journeys are smooth and fulfilling.

From May 23, Umrah permits through the Nusuk app were temporarily halted to prioritize the influx of Hajj pilgrims, ensuring they could perform their rituals with ease. Now, with Hajj concluded, the Nusuk App is back in action, resuming Umrah visa issuance from Dhul Hijjah 15, or June 21.

In its latest statement, the Ministry emphasized that this initiative, immediately following the Hajj season, harnesses both technical expertise and on-ground programs to support and facilitate the pilgrim’s experience. The seamless issuance of Umrah visas is part of a broader strategy to continuously enhance the services provided to the guests of the Kingdom.
