Saudi Arabia Opens Exit Window: 30 Days to Settle Expired Visit Visas

In a quiet but consequential move, Saudi Arabia’s passport authority, Jawazat, has launched a 30-day amnesty for those holding expired visit visas. Whether you’re a tourist, a family visitor, or in the Kingdom for any other short-term reason, the clock started ticking on June 26, 2025.

No matter the visa type, if it has expired, this one-time initiative allows a final chance to legally exit the country. But it’s not a free pass—fees and penalties must be cleared before departure. The initiative is aimed at tidying up the overstayed-visa situation without resorting to legal action or detention.

The process isn’t paper-based. It’s all online via “Tawasul,” the service built into the Ministry of Interior’s Absher platform—a familiar name to residents and visitors dealing with Saudi bureaucracy.

Jawazat is urging eligible individuals to move swiftly and not let this brief window shut without action. After the 30-day mark, the usual enforcement protocols will likely resume, leaving overstayers in a precarious spot.
